Wearing
your regular walking shoes, stand erect with your arms
hanging comfortably by your sides.
Have
someone measure from the ground up to the
"crease" in your wrist (where your hand joins
your arm).
This
is the appropriate length for a walking stick or cane.
If
you are hiking or walking on rough ground, add an
additional 1 or 2 inches to the measured height.

it's easier to shorten your cane later than it is to
make it longer! |
